Last week’s photo was of Amos Jacob Nine and his wife Alda Dumire Nine (with two of their children; Ola, standing between her parents and Paul sitting on his mother’s lap. Paul passed away around 5 or 6 years of age. Total children in the family included 7 boys (three of the boys died young) and 2 girls. Amos was referred to as “Doc” Nine though he was never a doctor. When Amos and Alda were married in the early 1900’s they lived in Hambleton; around 1918 they moved to a farm on Location. While living in Hambleton, “Doc” Nine worked in the logging industry. When they moved to the farm on Location, he operated a small sawmill. He eventually sold the sawmill and continued to farm. Photo identified by Nick and Delores Nine. This is Nick’s grandfather.
