Mon Power is postponing the planned interruption until Saturday, March 25.

On Saturday, March 25, customers will experience a service interruption beginning at 8 am and lasting until about 4 pm.

The outage will affect 3,015 customers in the eastern section of Tucker County.

The substation serves the town of Parsons.

North of Parsons, it covers the Route 72 area from Parsons north through St. George to the Preston County line.  It serves the Route 38 area from St. George to the Barbour County line.  It serves the communities of St. George, Lead Mine, Shafer, and Hannahstown, and the Horseshoe Run, Location Road, Minear Run, Limestone Road, Licking Creek Road, Bull Run Road, and Jonathan Run Road areas.

East of Parsons, the area includes the Route 219 area from Parsons to near the intersection of Route 25.  It serves the Route 72 area from the Route 219 intersection southeast through the towns of Hambleton and Hendricks.

South and west of Parsons, the area includes the Route 219 area between Parsons and the Randolph County line, which includes Porterwood, Pleasant Run, Haddis Run, Clover Lick Run and Indian Run.

Mon Power regrets the inconvenience, but the work is necessary to complete an upgrade of the transmission line serving Parsons Substation to ensure service reliability in the area.

If customers have any questions, they may call Mon Power Customer Service at 800-686-0022. All affected customers should receive a notification phone message from Mon Power.
