Charles Curtis Teets, 68, of Eglon, WV died May 17, 2017 at Garrett Medical Regional Center, Oakland, MD. He was born October 14, 1948 in Eglon, WV a son of the late Charles Franklin Teets and Audra Virginia Shaffer Teets who survives.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents; Lindsey and Dora Teets and Hugh and Velma Shaffer, one brother-in-law, Robert Maxey, and nephew; Jeffrey Harsh. Survivors include two sisters; Ruth Ann Maxey, Solomons, MD and Ellen (Marvin) Harsh, Eglon, WV, three nieces; Karen (Joe Thatcher) Maxey, Prince Frederick, MD, Paula (Joe) Kowalczyk, Owings, MD and Lyvonne (Scott) Harsh, Eglon, WV, two grand – nephews; Daniel Kowalczyk and Evan Harsh and a grand – niece, Megan Harsh.
Mr. Teets was a Deacon in the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren and served several years with Union Ambulance Service. He was a graduate of Aurora High School and West Virginia University. He was employed by the Federal Government as a soil scientist and then returned home to operate the family farm until his retirement. He was never married.
Friends were received on Friday May 19, 2017 at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren, Eglon, WV from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday May 20 at Maple Spring Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m. with Rev. Deborah Strawser officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Spring Cemetery.
