The official ribbon cutting for Chloe’s Sweet Shop occurred on Friday, Oct. 25. Owner Lisa Jones’ daughter, Chloe, cut the ribbon at 11 a.m. and ushered customer into their new bake shop.
The Sweet Shop features cinnamon buns, muffins, cookies, fudge and specialty cakes along with coffee and tea. Jones also plans to have soup, pepperoni rolls, gluten free and sugar free items available.
Lisa, along with husband Jon and daughter Chloe, moved to the area from Georgia, bringing with them their love of good food and family values. Jones said, “I am opening this shop as a legacy for our daughter, we plan to stay here and make this area our home.”
Among the early patrons was County Commissioner Lowell Moore and wife Donna. Moore said,”The opening of a new business is always encouraging news for our area; a new business brings employment, customers and sales, all of which is an asset to Tucker County. We need to welcome all new businesses and patronize them as much as possible.”
“We are excited to host another small business in our historic downtown. We urge residents to shop locally and support our local economy.” said Jason Myers, Parsons City Administrator. Myers also stated, “Grow your community buy local.”
The shop was booming with business and Jones stated, “I am speechless and excited for the future. We have already sold out of some items but there are plenty more left.” Chloe said, “I am excited and I want a cinnamon roll!”
The shop which is located, in the old Tucker County Bank Building, at the corner of First and Walnut streets, will be open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may reach them at 304-478-9945 or 770-714-9217.
