Momma Said

I don’t know how much more our poor country can take.  Texas and Florida are slowly recovering from the hurricanes and massive flooding, but Puerto Rico has hundreds of thousands of people without homes, electric and basic necessities of life.  Now California has thousands of people without homes.  These people have lost everything.  Momma Said, “To rebuild from the ashes is monumental.”

I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all the first responders who are out risking their own lives everyday to save others, especially all the smoke eaters out in California who have lost their own homes while trying to save others from the massive wild fires.  I know there were others in the recent flooding who lost everything as well while trying to help others.  It is a sacrifice they are willing to make and I commend them for it.

It takes a strong person to know you are losing everything, but continue to do your job.  The important thing to them I think is to know there loved ones are safe.  The material things can be replaced eventually.  Momma Said, “Some things are irreplaceable, you can make new memories, but you can’t replace a loved one.”

Take time in your day to say thank you to someone just doing their job.  It may be a soldier, a police officer, fireman or your mailman.  Everyone feels better when they know someone cares.  Treat everyone the same way you would want someone to treat you.  Don’t be disrespectful and try to be kind to everyone.

Recipe for a Good Person

  • 2 handfuls of Respect
  • 1 extra large portion of Love
  • unlimited hugs
  1. Mix together and distribute liberally
