PARSONS EASTER CELEBRATION

The Parsons Center will be holding their Easter Celebration on Thursday, March 29th at 10:30 a.m. We will be entertained with Easter readings and several selections by the Goldenaires choir. We are hoping we can get the Easter Bunny to stop by. We will also be having a parade of Easter bonnets and an Easter egg hunt so bring your bonnet and join us.

HOLIDAY CLOSING

Both Tucker County Senior Centers will be closed on Friday, March 30th in observance of Good Friday. They will open on Monday at the regular time.

POSSIBLE TRIP TO GRACELAND

We are trying to get a trip to Graceland set up. We have had several requests for this trip. We are looking at September 9th to 14th. We really need to know if there are enough people interested in this trip before we go any further with the plans. If you are interested in this trip, please call the Parsons Center at 304-478-2423 immediately to get on the list. If we have enough on the list we will continue working on it. After we complete the details we will call and see if you are still interested in going with us. We must know by April 12th because that is when the deposit for the bus is due. We don’t want to send any money if we don’t have people interested in the trip.

SUGGESTIONS

We are trying to get more participation at both of our Senior Centers. We would like to have suggestions for programs and activities that you might be interested in. Please write down your suggestions and put them in the suggestion box or give them to one of the employees. We can’t promise that we will do all that is suggested but we want you to have input for our activities.

PARSONS OUTPOST

The Parsons Center will be holding their monthly Outpost on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The Sonbeams from the First United Methodist Church will be blessing us with songs. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join in the fun and fellowship.

SENIOR OLYMPICS IN KEYSER, WV

It’s not too soon to begin thinking about the Senior Olympics in Keyser, WV. They will be held June 12th through 15th. We would love to have you join us. The participants are grouped by ages and gender so you will be competing with those your same age. You can enter as many or as few events as you choose. The week starts off with the crafts and baked goods competition. Other events include football toss, archery, bocce ball roll, disc golf putting, bean bag toss, Wiffle ball toss, corn hole, basketball throw, bowling, basketball hot shot, ladder ball, golf putting, and more. There is also a talent show where you can sing, dance, recite poetry etc. There is a dance, a pizza party, a picnic, and many other activities to enjoy. We don’t have a price yet but as soon as we get one we will let you know. If you are interested, please call the Parsons Center at 304-478-2423 to get your name on the list. Team Tucker has done very well in the past and we know there are some talented people ages 55+ out there to help us continue our winning ways.

OUT WEST PAYMENT

The next payment for the Out West trip is Thursday, April 5th between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If you cannot come at that time, please put your check in the mail. Thank you.
