Twila Joan Wratchford Lewis

Twila Joan Wratchford Lewis, 83, a resident of Parsons, and more recently a patient at the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center passed from this life Friday, March 23, 2018.


Twila was born Monday, April 9, 1934 in Hambleton, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Julia Mae Bennett Wratchford. On April 19, 1953 in Parsons, she was married to Richard Lee Lewis who survives. They had celebrated almost sixty-five years of marriage.

Left to cherish Twila’s memory are two daughters, Constance “Connie” Joan Shahan and Victoria “Vicki” Lynn Glasow and husband, John, one son, Richard “Rick” Lee Lewis II and wife, Jaime, eight grandchildren, Christopher Hinte and wife, Tori, Sarah Ricottilli and husband, Ron, Jeremy Hinte, Emma Glasow and fiancé, Corey Harper, Amy Glasow, Selena Lewis, Sammy Lewis, and Dean Lewis, three great-grandchildren, Lilly Hinte, Anna Hinte and Liam Ricottilli.

Preceding Twila in death was four brothers, Mont Wratchford, Delvin “Squeak” Wratchford, Harold Wratchford and Norman Wratchford and a son-in-law, Rocky Shahan.

Twila was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1952. She was a homemaker, and was also employed at various jobs. She established the Good News Christian Book and Gift Stores in Parsons and Elkins, which she was most proud of and enjoyed immensely. She was a member of the Parsons Church of God and the Gideons Auxiliary. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she loved her family and caring for them. She enjoyed church activities, gardening, and her pets.

A visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Thursday, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. Rev. Dave Snyder will officiate and interment will follow in Parsons City Cemetery. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Twila Joan Wratchford Lewis. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
