Oved Wade “Ovie” Bohon, age 78 years, a resident of the Smokey Hollow Community, Parsons, WV departed this life late Tuesday evening, April 24, 2018 at Mon Health at Morgantown, WV with his loving family by his side. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.
He was born Thursday, March 7, 1940 at St. George, a son of the late Toney Calvin Bohon and Janet Louise Miller Bohon Rhoades. He was twice married. First to Janet R. Cross, who survives and second to Jean Bohon, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are one son, Stacy Wade Bohon and wife Donna of St. George; two daughters, Connie Louise Nestor and husband Larry of Hendricks and Tara Lee Bohon of Watertown, NY; three sisters, Delain Mullenax of Elkins, Della Akins of Hambleton and Delores Nine and husband Nick of Hambleton; three grandchildren, Miranda Lee Bohon, Crystal Nicole Pike and husband Bernie and Eric Wade Nestor and wife Rachaer; one step grandson, Calvin; and four great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Robert G. Bohon and Dearl R. Bohon.
He attended the one room school #6 at Location, St. George, WV and Parsons High School. He was an employee of the former Parsons Tannery, Roscoe Nestor Sawmill. He cleared the right of way from Elkins to Parsons by hand for the Power Company. He was a construction worker and had worked for Frank Roberts and Jerry Bolyard, from which he retired. He loved to hunt and fish, playing horseshoes and watching westerns. He lived life to the fullest.
A Private Family and Friends gathering will be held at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home at Parsons, WV. Rev. Pat Cassidy will officiate, and interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery at St. George, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for OVED WADE “OVIE” BOHON.
