Robert E. Murphy, 81, of Daytona Beach, Fla. dies Aug. 23, 2107 at Hospice House in Daytona Beach, Fla.


He was born Nov. 24, 1935 in Parsons, a son of the late Winifred H. and Greathel V. Murphy.

Mr. Murphy never married and he is survived by two brothers and one sister, William C. Murphy and wife Elise of East Palm Bay, Fla., Roger D. Murphy and wife Dorothy L. of Parsons, Viola A. Filler and husband John, of Parsons. He was loved by all his nieces and nephews.

He worked as an electrician and superintendent for 40 years for Olsen Electric of Daytona Beach. And the last five years he worked at Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center as an electrician.

He was a US Army Veteran serving in Italy and the US. He was in the Army for three years.

He will be laid to rest at Parsons City Cemetery on Saturday, May 5 at 11 a.m. with Pastor James Snyder officiating. There will be full military honors.
