Joce Anna Wymer Govedich, 83, of Maysville, WV passed away June 28, 2018 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. She was born May 1, 1935 in Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Olivia Olive Wymer.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter “Bud” Govedich, also surviving is one son, Steven M. Govedich (preceded in death by his wife, Lillian), one daughter, Deborah L. Govedich Lane and husband Perry “Chip” and one sister, Wanda Mae Wymer Hammond. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Betty Joyce Wymer Spindler, and two brothers-in-law, Edward “Tiny” Spindler and Tabor “Sonny” Hammond.
Joce attended high school in Davis, West Virginia and was voted May Queen in her senior year. She graduated from Davis High School with class of 1953. She first worked in Baltimore, Maryland operating various business machines and then moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area where she worked at Tupperware for many years.
She married her high school sweetheart, Bud, in July of 1957.
Joce has two grandsons, Steven Michael, Jr. and Paul William Govedich, and one great-granddaughter, Alexa Rose Govedich.
She was an avid deer hunter with many trophies as well as a great fisherman with numerous trout and bass to her credit. She loved to go bowling. She was an excellent cook and loved to play board games and card games with her family. She developed an interest in crochet and made many afghans which she proudly gave to her family and friends.
