Annual Veterans Day program at TVEMS

Annual Veterans Day program is Friday, November 9 at 10 a.m. in the gym. Lunch will follow in the school cafeteria. All Veterans are welcome.

Executive Committee Meeting

The Region VI Workforce Development Board Executive Committee will meet Thursday, Nov. 8 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Region VI Workforce Development Board Office, 17 Middletown Rd, White Hall. Chicken Burn

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will be having a Chicken Burn this Saturday, Nov. 3, beginning at 11a.m. until all dinners are sold, at the vacant lot beside Kidwell’s. Dinner includes: Half a Chicken, baked beans, slaw, dinner roll, water and homemade dessert. $10 each. Sponsored by Bolivian Mission Team returning to Bolivia this December.

Craft and Vendor Show

Maple Spring Family Life Center will have a Craft and Vendor Show from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. Crafts, gifts, soups, pepperoni rolls, raffle, Christmas pictures. Sponsored by Maple Spring Women’s Fellowship.

Library Meeting

The next meeting of the Mountaintop Public Library Board of Trustees will be at the library at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 8. The meetings are open to the public.

Celebrating The Season Workshop

Celebrating the srason with West Virginia artist Sarah Ferguson hosted by Parsons Revitalization Organization (PRO) On TRAC for third, fourth and fifth grades at Five Rivers Library.
There will be three festive workshop sessions on Saturday November 3 from 10 -11:30 a.m., Sunday November 18 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. and Saturday December 1 from 10 – 11:30 a.m.. Working with a variety of materials, such as watercolor paints, pencils, oil pastels, tempera paints, paper and scissors. Mixed media artwork depicting the Western Maryland Railroad Depot of Parsons dressed by winter. Another week will focus on creating “FROSTY” water color paintings, and the last creation will be wintry KIRIGAMI paper cut designs, such as 3d snowflakes and Christmas trees.
All artwork will be on display in the depot during the Christmas Home Tour.
Space is limited, call Diana DeLuca, AmeriCorps Community Coordinator at 304 478-6009 or stop by the PRO office located in the Parsons City Hall Business Office week days 9 to 5 . This is a free workshop.

Operation Christmas Child

Hendricks Free Methodist Church will have a cornbread and bean fundraiser with bake sale from 2 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Eat in or carry out. Also pack your own shoeboxes. For information call 304-478-3244.

Shooting Match

The Mt. Grove VFD will have a shooting match at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18. Only 12/16/20 gauge shot guns will be permitted. $2 a shot and shells will be provided by Mt. Grove. Prizes will be awarded and concessions will be available.

Fall Sale

The Hambleton United Methodist Church is having a Fall Sale of treasurers, trinkets and tasty treats from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. Church is located at corner of Hendricks Hill Rd and 5th St. in Hambleton.

Happenings at CVNWR

Saturday, November 3, 730 am. High Elevation Bird Walk. Join Herb Myers at the visitor center. We will drive to the top of Forest Road 80 and walk along the ridge of Cabin Mountain looking for our feathered friends. Please note: If the weather is snowy and windy, or roads are impassable, the walk will be cancelled.

Movie & Munchies

Movie & Munchies at Five Rivers Public Library, Tuesday, November 6 at 1 p.m. Showing “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.” Rated PG, Run time 91 minutes. Snacks and Drinks provided. All Welcome. Free Community Event.
