Tucker County special Olympics had eight athletes participate in the State Basketball Tournaments recently. Assisting the participants were five coaches/chaperone
Winners were: Alisha Bennett 1st-Gold; Emily Bennett 1st-Gold; Rocky Freeman 3rd-Bronze; Isaiah Meloy 3rd-Bronze; Don Nestor 1st-Gold; Dale Varner- Ribbon; David Varner- Ribbon Eric Lawerence 2nd-Silver.The athletes competed in dribbling, shooting and wall pass. McDonald’s of Parsons provided breakfast for the athletes and volunteers and Eric Wamsley of Wamsley’s Wood Working sponsored the rental vans. Tucker County Commission supplied funding for Basketball Games.
