RETHA LOUISE KIMBLE BILBY

RETHA LOUISE KIMBLE BILBY, age 87 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV, departed this life Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her home.  She had been in declining health.

She was born Thursday, February 4, 1932 at Hambleton, WV, a daughter of the late Carl Ray and Freda Muriel Evans Kimble.  On April 7, 1951, at Washington, DC, she was married to Marion William “Bill” Bilby, who survives.  They had celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage.

Also surviving are one daughter Marian Louise Tripp and husband, Edward of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Alice McCray and husband John of Bedford, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one infant daughter, Susan Elaine Bilby; two brothers, Douglas Kimble and Carl Ray Kimble, Jr.; and one sister, Margie Vest.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1950.  She was a secretary working in Washington, DC, then moving back to Hambleton, WV, she worked at the Tucker County Court House, The Tucker County Health Dept. and for Mullenax Lumber Company for many years.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hambleton, a member of the Parsons Chapter #91, Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the former Liberty Rebekah Lodge #95, Parsons.  Retha was an avid embroiderer and enjoyed planting her flower garden.  She was a wonderful cook and baker.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Final rites were conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m.  Pastor Susie Metzner will officiated, and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for RETHA LOUISE KIMBLE BILBY.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
