Audra V. (Shaffer) Teets

Audra V. (Shaffer) Teets, 97, of Eglon, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 surrounded by her family. Born on September 6, 1922 in Davis, she is the daughter of Hugh and Velma Shaffer. Audra was a homemaker and worked beside her late husband, Charles on their family’s dairy farm. She was a member of the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren where she was highly involved in all aspects of church life. Audra was also an EMT with Union Ambulance. She enjoyed reading history.

Audra is survived by her daughters, Ruth Maxey and Ellen Harsh; grandchildren, Karen Maxey Thacher and husband Joe, Paula Kowalczyk and husband Joe, Lyvonne Harsh; great grandchildren, Daniel Kowalczyk and wife Olivia, Megan Fisher and husband Colin, Evan Harsh; and a great-great granddaughter, Lili Kowalczyk. In addition to her parents, Audra was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Teets, who she married on June 22, 1940; a son, Charles Curtis Teets; a grandson, Jeff Harsh; four sisters; sons-in-law, Robert Maxey and Marvin Harsh; grandson-in-law, Scott Harsh. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Friends were received at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. and then again Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 10- 11 a.m.. A funeral service were immediately follow with Pastor Debbie Strawser officiating. Interment was in Maple Spring Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Amedisys Hospice. Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family at this time.
