Tucker County’s total case numbers are 792 confirmed positive cases since the beginning of this pandemic, 78 active cases, 704 that have recovered and 10 deaths.

Since 9/01/2021, we have seen 100 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the county.

West Virginia is blowing past the rest of the nation for how quickly the number of COVID cases are accelerating, and hospitals are feeling the strain. Right now, West Virginia leads the nation in that acceleration of new cases with 2.69 cases per 100,000 people per week per day. The state’s rate of new COVID cases is higher than South Dakota (1.68), North Dakota 1.53), Ohio (1.46), Wyoming (1.34) and all the others.-wvmetronews.com

As a County, we are in bad place right now.  COVID active case numbers are very high in our County.  We have many residents with severe illness, and some are even hospitalized.  This Delta variant is so contagious and spreading like a wildfire.  We must work together to get through this.

  1. If you have not gotten vaccinated, you need to. The vaccine will protect you and your community.  Even when those who have gotten vaccinated and still contract the virus, they generally have much lighter symptoms.
  2. Wear a mask. A mask may not be 100 percent effective, but it is very effective in protecting you and your community from the spread of COVID-19.
  3. If you have symptoms, don’t go to work, school, or to other public places. Go get tested.
  4. If you test positive or are a direct contact to a positive case, follow the quarantine protocol.

It will take all of us doing our part, to get through this.

HOME COVID TEST KITS ARE NOT RECOGNIZED AS OFFICIAL TESTS

We are not allowed to use the results from these tests in managing cases. Because at-home tests are not electronically reported to the state and the administration of these tests are administered with no oversight they shall not be used to release individuals from quarantine to return to work or school.

COVID-19 testing is offered at St. George Medical Clinic, St. George School Based Clinic, Mountain Top Clinic, and 259STAT in Davis (Please call for details).
