Edith Lucille Bright Bonner, age 84 years, a resident of the Elk Community, Dryfork, WV departed this life late Monday evening, June 2, 2014 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her family. She had been in declining health.
She was born Sunday, January 19, 1930 at Hendricks, WV, a daughter of the late Garber Lee and Evelyn Ruth Jackson Bright. On June 18, 1947 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Ernest Franklin Bonner, Jr., who preceded her in death February 20, 2002. Surviving are one daughter, Jean Ann Hedrick and husband Jack, of Stringtown, WV; four sisters, Dorothy Day, Eleanor Carr, Betty Cogar, and Carole Kendall and husband Kirby, all of Baltimore, MD; three grandsons, Scott Hedrick and wife Kristen, Justin Bonner and Joshua Bonner and two granddaughters, Amy Hedrick Simmons and husband Thomas and Brittany Bonner; one great granddaughter, Lillian Grace Hedrick.
Preceding her in death are one son, Gary Ernest Bonner, who preceded her in death August 13, 2007; two sisters, Wanda Wilfong and Helen Moran.
She attended the Hendricks Grade School. She was a homemaker, a babysitter and a very talented seamstress and she enjoyed making dresses and dolls. She loved to work outside in her yard and in the garden. She was an avid cook and canned.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday. Final Rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor, Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11a.m. The Rev. Todd Rhodes officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Edith Lucille Bright Bonner.
