The Parsons Senior Center held their monthly Outpost on November 7, 2023. Linda Bonner welcomed everyone. Everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance then sang “God Bless America.

Those having November birthdays were recognized. They were, Arlene Ramsey and David Sharp.

Kim Ledden from the Tucker County Health Department spoke about vaccinations. She discussed the new RSV (which is a respiratory virus) for those over 60 and the new Covid shot which covers a new variant.

She also discussed the TDAP which you should have every 10 years, the flu shot, shingles shot, and pneumonia shots. The Tucker County Health Department is connected to a statewide program and if you stop by, they can print you a record of any vaccines you have had in West Virginia.

After Kim spoke, Jean Morrison read “Something Told the Wild Geese,”  Arlene Ramsey read “For This Great Land,” and Linda Bonner read “Now if This Isn’t the Truth, I Don’t Know What is!!

Tim Turner read a few jokes then showed “The Legend of Darkish Knob revisited. This was a very interesting movie about local history.

Door prizes were won by Eleanor Nestor, Don Nestor (Frosty), and Rita Roberts.

A blessing on the food was given and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal.
