Phyllis Maurene Evans, age 88, of Erie, PA, passed peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024 at Sarah A. Reed.
She was born in Hendricks, WV, on Nov. 2, 1935, a daughter of the late Stanley and Texie Lantz Ketterman. Phyllis was a proud graduate of Thomas High School’s Class of 1953.
Phyllis enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and writing poetry, and, most especially, hosting gatherings and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Evans, and her siblings, Dorothy, Dale, Joyce, Darlene, David, Sue, and Jan.
She is survived by her five children, Kathy (Mark) Wheeler, Stephen (Shelley) Evans, Darrell Evans, Lisa (Walt) Barczyk and David (Michelle) Evans; grandchildren, Mary, Janelle, Mark, Emily, Bethany, Lee, Katie Rose, Kelsey and Hunter; and great grandchildren, Andrew, Jade, Emma and Addilyn.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
