The Tucker FFA livestock judging team of Matthew Stoner, Elaina Owens, Bailey Lewis and Emily Snyder traveled to Morgantown on September 26th to West Virginia University farm to compete in the statewide Fall CDE for Livestock Judging. This is a team event where students observe livestock, select livestock for marketing and breeding, and market livestock to meet consumer demands. Animal species that were judged included beef, sheep, goats and hogs. There was a total of nine classes in which students had to rank. There were multiple animals within each class, placing the best to the least quality for the diameter of the class. After the scorecards were graded, students then had to give oral reasons for the placement of each pen, within a two-minute time limitation for each class. The team placed 14th overall out of 31 teams.
