The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
Jeremy Dale Lower: was charged with one felony count of fraudulent insurance acts. According to the complaint, on Wednesday, Oct. 9 Cpl. C.R. Summerfiled, of the Tucker County Sheriff’s office received a complaint that stated a 2023 Dodge Ram had been hit while parked in front of their residence. The victim stated that they obtained video surveillance of the incident from their neighbor’s security cameras. They stated that the incident occurred on Saturday, Oct. 5 around 4 a.m.
Summerfield obtained a handwritten and signed statement from the victim that stated he discovered his truck to be hit in the parking spot in front of his house on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 5. He stated that the driver, Jeremy Lower, left a note to contact him to obtain insurance information. Upon talking to Lower and getting his information the victim discovered from Lower’s insurance company that his insurance was purchased after this incident and the insurance would not cover it.
The victim provided Summerfield with an estimate of the damages that he obtained from Accurate Auto Estimates & Collision repair. The estimated total of damages is $3,068.71. He was also provided with Lower’s insurance card that he sent from his company along with text messages between himself and Lower.
Summerfield requested the Tucker County Prosecutors Office to send a subpoena to the insurance company to obtain further information regarding Lower’s policy. Upon reviewing the information from the company it was discovered that Lower obtained the insurance policy on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1:07 p.m. The policy was purchased for a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab and a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT. Upon further investigation it was discovered that Lower reported a front end collision with a motor vehicle on Saturday, Oct. 5. According to the documents from the insurance company, they provided the time of loss as 4 p.m. and it was reported on the same date at 8:31 p.m. Claim information revealed that vehicle two was a 2023 Dodge Ram that was struck.
This crime occurred in Tucker County and all parties are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
