Eglon, WV – Horizons Academy, a growing Christian microschool, is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Hope, Love, and Charity at the Smallest Church to construct a new community center and educational facility. The building will be located on the historic grounds of Our Lady of the Pines – The Smallest Church in 48 States, a beloved landmark in Preston County.
The new facility will house Horizons Academy’s expanding student body and will feature:
-
Dedicated classrooms for individualized and small-group learning
-
A multipurpose activity space for events, recreation, and enrichment programs
-
A fully equipped commercial kitchen to support community meals and student food programs
This collaboration is driven by a shared mission to serve local families and provide a nurturing, faith-centered educational environment. With plans to break ground in August, the project represents a vital step forward for both the school and the surrounding community.
“This new facility will not only meet the immediate needs of Horizons Academy’s students, but also provide a space where neighbors can come together, serve one another, and grow in faith and fellowship,” said Michelle Berry, Director of Horizons Academy.
