The Tucker County High School cheerleaders took the floor this past Wednesday at the West Virginia State Cheer Competition in Charleston, facing off against the seven other top squads in Class A. With a packed arena and a loud, supportive crowd behind them, the Lady Mt. Lions delivered a strong, spirited performance that showcased their athleticism and school pride.

Despite the energy they brought to the mat and the excitement they generated in the stands, bolstered by the large number of Tucker County fans in attendance, they ultimately did not walk away with any hardware this year. The competition was tight across the board, with all eight qualifying teams putting on polished, high-level routines worthy of state contention.

In the end, Tug Valley claimed the Class A state championship trophy, earning top honors with a routine that impressed both judges and spectators.

While the Lady Mt. Lions didn’t bring home a trophy, their performance marked a proud and successful close to their competition season.
