Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Great-Great-Grandfather.
John Henry Ferguson 4th, 100 years old, of Trappe, Maryland died January 8, 2026, after a brief illness. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland October 7, 1925, to John Henry Ferguson 3rd and Ella Ferguson (nèe Koestler). He graduated Friends High School in Baltimore and because he had a pilot’s license, he was on a fast track to a Lieutenant Rank at the start of WWII. Because of hearing loss suffered from a childhood illness, he could not proceed. He attended Johns Hopkins University for a short time and then followed in his family’s footsteps in the printing and publishing business until retirement. He was also active with the family horse farm. Prior to retirement he lived in Baltimore, St. Michaels, and then Mt. Airy, Maryland. Upon retirement he repurposed his life and became a stained-glass artist. He and his beloved wife Titi moved to Canaan Valley, West Virginia where they spent 35 years post-retirement before moving to Trappe, Maryland. They founded the WVHighlands Artisan Gallery in Davis, West Virginia. He loved spending time with his family and went on numerous family vacations to Mexico.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Titi Ferguson (nèe Killeen). They met in 1957 on a blind date at a Princeton Football game and soon after they knew they were destined to be married. They married 363 days after they met.
He is survived by his 3 children: son, David William Ferguson, Sr and his wife, Cindy, daughter, Jo Ferguson Bramble and her husband, Mike, and son, John Henry Ferguson 5th and his husband Neal. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was active in St. Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church in Thomas, West Virginia, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Upon his move to Trappe, MD he joined Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Easton, Maryland.
A visitation will be held from 4 pm – 6 pm on Thursday January 15th, 2026 at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Easton, MD. A funeral mass will be held the next day, Friday January 16th, 2026 at 11 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Easton, MD.
