The Tucker Valley Lady Wildcats split a pair of games this past week. They began the week on the road in a varsity-only matchup at Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School. The Wildcats fell behind early, trailing by seven points at the end of the first quarter and 20–11 at the half. BU pulled away in the second half to secure a 41–21 win. Maci Owens led Tucker Valley with 12 points, while Mia Lambert added five and Ally Wright collected four.

Tucker Valley returned home on Thursday to take on the Webster County Highlanders. The JV squad started the night with a tough 36–6 loss at the hands of Webster. Kragen Cale, McKinnley Williams, and Aubree Smith each scored two points for the Wildcats.

The varsity matchup followed, and the Wildcats picked up another quality win. Tucker trailed early, with Webster holding a 7–4 lead at the end of the first, but the Wildcats found their rhythm on offense to take a 15–10 lead into halftime. The game remained tight throughout the second half; Tucker held a narrow 26–22 lead at the end of the third quarter and hung on to secure a 32–29 victory.

Maci Owens again led the scoring effort with 12 points, Marlee Evans contributed eight, and Ally Wright and Kosi Slaughbaugh each added four. Tucker Valley returns to action on January 12th at Central Preston with a 5:45 p.m. tipoff.
