The Davis Thomas Bears boys basketball team played two games this past week. To start the week DT took on South Preston Middle, the Bears hung close through the first period as they trailed 11-7. South Preston pulled away slightly before the half holding a narrow 6-point lead at 20-14. The Bears found themselves only down 6 and very much in contention for the win heading into the final period. South Preston would outscore the Bears 23-2 to end the game with a Davis Thomas loss at 57-22. Nolan Luzier led the scoring efforts with 10 points, Elijah O’Brien scored 5 points and Kevin Kerr finished with 3 points. The Bears would finish their week with a matchup with Capon Bridge, DT would hold a small lead after the 1st period at 5-4. After the first period DT would score 13 points in each of the final 3 quarters and never trailed to Capon Bridge on their way to a 44-38 victory. Kerr had himself a big night for the Bears, dropping 21 points, Luzier had 11 points with O’Brien, Westyn Huffman and Jarrett Dearborn scoring 4 points each. The Bears will play again on Tuesday February 10th at home against Belington Middle.
