The Lady Bears of Davis Thomas Middle School picked up a pair of quality wins last week. DT started the week with a suffocating performance over South Preston. Davis Thomas held their opponent to single-digit scoring in three quarters and scoreless in another, while DT poured in 47 for themselves. The Lady Bears picked up the win with a final score of 47–12. Addy Johnson led all scorers with 19 points, followed by Morgan Simmons with 12 points and Harper Wilt with 8 points.
To finish off the week, DT would play a much closer matchup against the Wildcats of Capon Bridge. The Lady Bears held a slight advantage after one period, leading 8–6, and trailed by one at the halftime break, 16–15. Davis Thomas would hold the Wildcats to just one point in the third period while scoring 11 to take back the lead at 26–17. Capon Bridge would make a run in the fourth, outscoring DT 9–8, but the Lady Bears would prevail, 34–26. Johnson led the team in scoring with 15 points, followed closely by Simmons with 13 points and Wilt with 6 points.
Davis Thomas will return to play on Tuesday, February 10th, for a home bout with Belington Middle.
