Bridgeport, W.Va.— Elyn H. Wang, MD, a board-certified radiation oncologist, is joining David Clump, MD, PhD, and Mohammad Shaikh, MD, at UHC Oncology, from Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky.
Dr. Wang’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, Stanford, Calif., graduating with distinction, having majored in human biology.
She went on to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University College of Pharmacy, Atlanta, Ga., and then worked as a pharmacist before earning a Doctor of Medicine degree from Yale University, New Haven, Conn.
Her internship was at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, N.Y., followed by a residency at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Stanford University School of Medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Wang has a wealth of working healthcare experience. In addition to having served as a pharmacist and radiation oncologist, she was the primary investigator for an analysis of patient understanding of radiation therapy for patients with breast cancer. She also worked at Stanford University’s Radiation Oncology department for a treatment planning tutorial.
Her contributions to professional publications have been extensive as has her involvement in presentations at medical meetings.
