The Hicks twins are going in the history books once again.
Former TCHS standouts and 2024 graduates, Addie and Katie Hicks, continued their winning ways at Glenville State University this season, helping the Pioneers softball team earn its first-ever NCAA Division II Women’s Softball World Series appearance.
Glenville State punched its ticket to the national stage after capturing the NCAA Super Regional title, winning two of three games against Kutztown University in an exciting series showdown. The Pioneers then traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the NCAA Division II Women’s Softball World Series at Frost Stadium, marking a milestone achievement for the program.
The twin sophomores became valuable contributors throughout the season, using their speed and athleticism to make an impact on the basepaths. Their aggressive baserunning and ability to create scoring opportunities added another spark to a team that made school history.
While Glenville State’s World Series journey came to an end in Chattanooga, the accomplishment remains one of the greatest seasons in program history. The Pioneers opened the tournament with a hard-fought 5-3 loss to Missouri Southern State before falling 5-0 to North Georgia in an elimination game.
Although the two losses ended Glenville State’s 2026 season, they take nothing away from what the Pioneers accomplished. Reaching the NCAA Division II Women’s Softball World Series for the first time in school history is a feat that will be remembered for years to come.
For the Hicks twins, the journey from local high school players to national contenders has happened quickly, and their story is still being written.
