The Tucker Valley Middle School football team hosted its annual car wash, bake sale, and hot dog fundraiser this past Friday, enjoying another successful event thanks to the tremendous support of the local community and beyond.
Throughout the day, supporters stopped by to have their vehicles washed while browsing tables filled with homemade baked goods. Guests also enjoyed hot dogs topped with the football program’s famous hot dog sauce and refreshing cold lemonade as they waited for their cars to shine. The fundraiser even welcomed visitors from five different states, with many complimenting the team’s hospitality and the community’s welcoming atmosphere.
Head Coach Freeman said the fundraiser is about much more than raising money for the program.
“These events are great for our boys in so many ways,” Freeman said. “They build team bonding, teach work ethic and accountability, and give the players a little skin in the game. When they’ve worked to help earn their equipment, uniforms, and support for the program, they take more pride in it and have greater respect for everything they have.”
Coach Freeman also expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped make the fundraiser a success.
“We are incredibly thankful for the support of our community,” Freeman said. “A special thank you goes to the City of Parsons and the Park Board for generously donating the use of their facilities and water for the event. We also couldn’t have done it without the many parents and volunteers who donated baked goods, gave their time, and helped run the fundraiser.”
Freeman added that the continued support from the community is what makes the Tucker Valley football program so special.
“It really does take a village,” he said, “and we have the best one.”
The Tucker Valley Middle School football team and coaching staff extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who attended, donated, and continues to support the program throughout the year.
