Candidate Meeting

All are welcome to attend a nonpartisan “Candidates & Conversation” this Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5-7 p.m. at the Senior Center in Parsons. Light refreshments will be served. Tucker County Commission candidate Jon Bush and WV House of Delegates candidate Deborah Stiles will be co-hosting. All candidates – Independent, Republican, Democrat – at all three levels, local, state, and federal – have been invited.

Retired School Employees Meeting Wednesday, Sept. 16

Tucker County Retired School Employees meeting is Wednesday, Sept. 16 at noon at the Parsons Senior Center. Lunch is available at 11:30 if you wish. All retirees are welcome.

St. George Senior Outpost Thursday, Sept. 17

St. George Senior Outpost is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the St. George Community Church. Bring a covered dish and join us for good food and fellowship.

Free Clothes Closet

The Southern Baptist Church in Rowlesburg will be having a free clothing giveaway from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19.

West Virginia Trappers Association Convention

The West Virginia Trappers Association will hold its annual convention September 18-20, 2026 at the Gilmer County Recreation Center, 1365 Sycamore Run Road, Glenville, WV. The Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 7 p.m.. Gates open at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18. Various demos at the barn near the camping area, and trap dying and waxing both days. Vendors will be present Friday and Saturday. Benefit auction will be Friday and also a spaghetti dinner on Friday evening. There will be a BB Gun Range and Archery Range, trap setting contests, along with other activities for the kids, and ladies. Saturday, Sept. 19, the gates open at 8 a.m.. The Trapper Education class registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and classes begin at 9AM. General Membership meeting will be Saturday after the education graduation in the main building. Hot dog roast and social gathering Saturday evening. Square dance Saturday evening. Primitive camping available on the grounds and also there are electric hookups for campers available. Gospel Sing at Union Chapel Church, Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 6 p.m. featuring Rex and Yvonne Smith from Virginia. Union Chapel Church, 162 Brushy Fork Rd. (off of the Clover Run Rd.), Parsons, WV. Welcome all, come and praise our Lord in song.
