A Tucker County High School teacher has been charged with one count of felony sexual intercourse, sexual intrusion or sexual contact against students by school employees.
Haden Michael Wamsley, 22, of Hambleton had a probable cause warrant issued against him by Magistrate Riley Barb on Oct. 1 in the case.
Criminal Complaint forms obtained from the Magistrate Court by the Parsons Advocate reveal that on Friday, Sept. 4, West Virginia State Police Trooper Hahn received an email from the superintendent of Tucker County Board of Education.
In this email, Hahn was advised that the superintendent had received an anonymous phone call regarding an inappropriate relationship between a Tucker County High School Student and a teacher, Haden Wamsley.
The superintendent further advised that the suspect, Wamsley, denied the allegations of the relationship and claimed that the only physical contact came as a result of a “hug.” The superintendent also stated that she had initiated a CPS referral on Sept. 3 at 9 a.m.
The documents also state that the email stated that TCHS principal Alex Cork had informed the superintendent that there was evidence of the suspect and victim “making out” a couple of times with the most recent occurrence being on Aug. 28.
The victim was also said in the documents to have “expressed her displeasure due to the fact that the suspect had ‘blocked her’ on 09/03/26.” In response, a counselor at TCHS has independently initiated a CPS referral in the case, as well.
Wamsley is himself a 2022 graduate of TCHS. As of Oct. 2, Wamsley was released from the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $10,000 property/surety bond.
No hearing date in Tucker County Circuit Court is available yet. The Parsons Advocate will continue to follow this story as it develops.
