October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to promote early detection, support those affected by breast cancer, and raise awareness about the importance of regular screenings and self-examinations.

The Tucker County CEOS (Community Educational Outreach Service) recently hosted a special presentation at the Tucker County Senior Outpost in Parsons. A proclamation recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month was signed by Commissioner Rosenau, and representatives from St. George Medical Clinic shared valuable information about early detection and demonstrated how to perform monthly self-examinations.

We were honored to recognize local breast cancer survivors Betty Bennett, Shirley Cassidy, Linda Plaugher, Arlene Ramsey, and Virginia Popio, who were presented with pink carnations in celebration of their strength, courage, and perseverance. Shout out to our CEOS ladies: Sharon Daniels (made the cupcakes), Meg Budding (for the music entertainment), Debbie Miller, Ruth Alkire, Sylvia Rosenau, Linda Plaugher, Marlayne Nestor and Cathy Robinson.

Together, we stand in support of survivors, those currently battling breast cancer, and the families who walk alongside them.
