I DARE YOU – Is presented to two current high school juniors that show personal integrity, balanced living, and a high potential for leadership. This year’s recipients are long-time 4-H members. Both members are excellent leaders and great examples to our youth. They attend 4-H camp and participate in the fair. They hold leadership roles in their clubs and are members of the teen leaders. I would like to present this year’s I Dare You awards to… Ava Wilfong & Bella Carr
FRIEND OF 4-H – A Friend of 4-H is an individual or business that has contributed to the improvement of the program. This year’s recipient has been a huge supporter of our 4-H program for years and is a former 4-Her himself. The last several years he has used his vacation time to volunteer at camp. He is also a member of our Extension Service Committee and understands the true impact the 4-H program has on youth. He is always only a call away and eager to help however he can. He has carried all of the H’s through his adult life and we are very proud of him. Will White
4-H SERVICE – Is awarded to an adult volunteer that has contributed to the 4-H Program.
This year’s award goes to an individual who truly embodies the 4-H spirit and is vested in the program. He serves as a camp counselor for any event – whether it is our week-long residential camp or a weekend camp. He is an instrumental part of the Tucker County 4-H camping program. With that said, his service to 4-H goes beyond just camping. He is known to check in from time to time during different events to make sure that everything is covered. We couldn’t be more proud of this former 4-Her.
Wesley Strawderman
OUTSTANDING 4-H Leader – Is given to a leader that has gone above and beyond the call of duty. This leader always makes sure her club has a wonderful experience that is fun as well as educational. She encourages all club members, including Cloverbuds, to complete their project books and turn them in on time, and she celebrates that achievement with her club. Her club is made up of younger members and is constantly growing. Jay Wilfong
OUTSTANDING 4-H Member – Is presented to a member who best exemplifies the finest qualities of 4-H. Our Outstanding 4-H Member embodies every part of the four-fold pledge: cleared head, larger heart, greater hands, and healthier living. This individual has spent the past year going above and beyond in their project work, stepping up as a mentor to younger members, and leading and participating in impactful community service projects right here in our local area. Whether they are organizing club activities, perfecting her projects, or showing up with a positive attitude at every single meeting, they set the absolute gold standard for what it means to be a 4-Her.
That’s why this year’s Outstanding 4-Her goes to … Baylee Lewis.
