Margaret Delores Cooper Vance, age 82 years, a resident of Harman, WV departed this life Thursday evening January 7th, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Valentine Personal Care Home, Elkins WV.

She was born Tuesday, July 25, 1933 at Rich Mountain, Randolph County WV, a daughter of the late Sampson and Elizabeth Grace Shears Cooper. On August 4, 1950 at Oakland, MD, she was married to Snoden Oliver Vance, who preceded her in death May 2, 2013. They had celebrated sixty two years of marriage.

Surviving are two sons, Teddy Lee Vance and wife Susie “Sun” Sim of Elkins, Thomas Samson Vance and wife Charlotte Ann of Harman; two daughters, Linda Louise Wolford and husband Tony Lane of Harman, Faith Olivia Cragg and husband Tim Cragg of Elkins; one brother, Tim Cooper of Gilman; one sister Bonnie Waybright of Zanesville, OH; five grandchildren, Sabrina, Shawn, Chad, Sheldon, and Ashley; four great grandchildren, LeeAnne, Austin, Kyle, and Brigette.

Preceding her in death are two sisters, Arlene Brown and Collette Bennett.

She attended the school at Harman. She was a former employee of the Allegheny Restaurant, Reidboard of Elkins and she was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. She enjoyed crochet, quilting, gardening and canning. She was a grandmother to the children at the Harman School.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. The Reverend Gray Hinkle officiated and interment followed at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements for Margaret Delores Cooper Vance. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
