The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their monthly Outpost at the Parsons Center on January 3, 2023. Linda Bonner welcomed everyone. Then everyone recited the Lord’s Prayer, gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang “God Bless America”.

Those having January birthdays were recognized and everyone sang “Happy      Birthday” to them. Those present were Don “Frosty” Nestor and Shirley Cassidy.

Arlene Ramsey started the program by reading “Holiday Reflections” followed by Patty Wilfong reading “A Journey to a New Year”. Next Jean Myers read “New Year’s Resolutions” followed by Linda Bonner reading a humorous poem titled, “I Took Him Back to Wal-Mart”.

Our entertainment for the day was Joey “Fiddler Joe” Osment from the Mt. Storm area. He played several country and bluegrass tunes on his fiddle. They included: “Red Wing”, “Country Roads”, “Dueling Banjoes”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “1814”, “Little Maggie’s”, and “Arkansas Traveler”.

The door prizes were won by: Virginia Popio, Ken Knotts, Don Nestor, Lily Nestor, Jim Buddingh, Rosie Moore, Jean Morrison, Deloris Kelley, David Sharp, Buddy Arnold, Sharon Daniels, Jean Myers, Ken Knotts, Earl Moore, David Varner, Eleanor Nestor, and Arlene Ramsey. Others included: Diane Dilly, Patty Wilfong, Susie Jones, Kathryn Michaels, and 2 others.

Ken Knotts asked a blessing on our food and we enjoyed a delicious meal.
