CORRECTION: The date was incorrect in the newsletter for the Flanagan Hill Outpost. It will be held on May 22, 2024 not May 29th. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The Parsons Senior Center held their monthly Outpost on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. They began with the Lord’s Prayer followed by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of “God Bless America”. The May birthdays were recognized. Meg Buddingh was the only one present. The group then sang “Happy Birthday” to her.

The program began with Sharon Daniels reading a poem titled “It’s Morning.” Arlene Ramsey then read “It Must Be Spring” followed by Sylvia Rosenau reading “The Country Road” and Linda Bonner reading “Morning’s Glory.” The program concluded with Patty Wilfong reading “God’s Country.”

The group then heard a presentation from Sam Hess who is a candidate for Circuit Judge for Preston and Tucker counties.

The entertainment for the day was Lenny Gruppa, who recently moved into the community, singing and playing the ukulele. He sang several songs including “Let it Be”, “This World is Not My Home”, “Unchained Melody”, and “To the West”.

Door Prizes were won by Betty Knotts, Anna Fitzwater, and Patty Wilfong.

Ken Knotts gave the blessing on the food. We were pleased to have 33 participants attend and enjoy a delicious meal.
