MT. TOP OUTPOST
We would like to have you join us on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:45 a.m. for our monthly Outpost. We will be having a special speaker to talk about nutrition. The West Virginia Extension Office will be providing a very informative session at 11:00 a.m.
LANCASTER, PA TRIP
We are planning a trip to Lancaster, PA to the Sight and Sound Theater to see their new production titled “Jesus.” The dates are July 9th to 11th. We don’t have a definite price yet but we will began taking names on Wednesday, January 10th. If you are interested, call the Center at 304-478-2423 to have your name placed on the list. When we have the final details, we will call you in the order that is on the list to see if you are still interested.
PITTSBURGH PIRATE BASEBALL GAME
We will be setting up a trip to Pittsburgh to see the Pirates play the Chicago Cubs on August 1, 2018. This will be an overnight trip. Among the activities we want to include are a tour of the stadium, watching batting practice, watching the game, and doing some touring in the area. We have not finalized the plans yet so keep watching the newspaper for more details and a price.
QUILTING AND SEWING LADIES
We are asking for more quilters and sewers. They meet after lunch on Thursdays from noon until 2 p.m. Even if you can’t stay the entire time, we would love to have you join us. This is a good way to meet new people or connect with old friends.
SWINGING TO THE MUSIC
Our “Swinging to the Music” classes have begun again. Our next session will be on Wednesday, January 24thth at noon. This is a low impact chance to get a little exercise on a cold wintry day. Please join us and participate as much or as little as you choose.
SHIP REPRESENTATIVE
Just a reminder that our SHIP representative is available on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. They are available to help answer any questions you may have about Medicare plans, eligibility, fraud, benefits etc. Please call 304-636-4747 to set up an appointment. They are here from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
CAKE WALK AT THE PARSONS CENTER
We will be having a cake walk, weather permitting, at the Parsons Center on Thursday, January 11th after lunch. The proceeds will help us purchase the AEDs for both Centers.
HOLIDAY CLOSING
Both Tucker County Senior Centers will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2018 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. They will reopen at their regular hours on Tuesday the 16th.
