The Tucker County Senior Citizens held their Annual Picnic at the Parsons Senior Center due to the “Tears from Heaven.”

Plenty of delicious food was served as the Senior Center cooking staff provided the hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, hobo beans, pasta salad and drinks. The participants brought an assortment of tasty covered dishes and desserts.

Pastor Greg Smith opened the event with prayer and the Tucker County Veterans led all in the Pledge of Allegiance. Members of the Senior Center Board of Directors were recognized as well as our participants of the Senior Olympics. Tucker County earned 54 medals, 2 records and a trophy for their efforts. The entertainment was provided by Mrs. Vicki DeSantis from Points, WV. She blessed us with several beautiful gospel songs.

After lunch there were dozens of door prizes given away and the winners of the Chinese Auction were announce.

We thank all who provided help in preparing for and cleaning up after our indoor picnic. If you were unable to attend, perhaps you will be able to join us next year’s event.
