TRAVEL NEWS

The committee has voted on our Christmas trip for this year. We will be going to Amish country in Ohio (Sugarcreek and Walnut Creek) November 19 – 21, 2019. The trip will include 2 shows, 2 dinners, Lehman’s Hardware, Walnut Creek Cheese, Schrock’s Heritage Village, and possibly other sights, lodging, transportation, and gratuities. On the way home we will stop in Wheeling at Cabela’s and view the lights before returning to Tucker County. The cost of the trip is $375 per person based on double occupancy. Please remember that the seats will be reserved based on the receipt of your $75 deposit which will be subtracted from the final price. The collection dates (after the deposit is made) will be August 22nd and September 26th. Each of these payments will be $150.00 per person for double occupancy.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to reserve your room for the 2021 Caribbean cruise, you must send in a deposit of $100. We will be sending the deposits to the tour company by the end of the week. If you are still interested in going, we will have to contact the cruise line to make sure they still have rooms available. Without a deposit, the cruise line may release the rooms to someone else. We must also know if you want an inside cabin for $1600 (Category 6V), an inside cabin for $1650 (category 2V), or an outside cabin for $2000. The difference with the inside cabins is the location on the ship. Also, you will need a passport. Please don’t wait until the last minute to apply for one because it can sometimes take several months to get it. If you have a passport, make sure you check the expiration date. If you have a question, please call Linda Bonner at 304-478-2423. This deposit will be refundable until July 1, 2020.

FLANAGAN HILL OUTPOST

Our July Outpost at Flanagan Hill will be Wednesday, July 24th at noon. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join us for great food and fellowship.

LEGAL AID SESSION 2

Please remember to fill out the forms you received and bring them with you on July 29th at 12:30 p.m. You will need to bring an ID with you so we can get the forms notarized.

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE

The representative from the Attorney General’s office will be at Mt. Top at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30th. If you have any concerns, please come and discuss them with her.

COUNTY-WIDE SENIOR PICNIC

Please circle Monday, August 5th on your calendar. That is the date of the annual county-wide picnic at Hendricks Park. The Senior Center will provide the meat, pasta salad, baked beans, and drinks. We ask that you bring your favorite side dish or dessert to complete our meal. There will be games beginning about 10:00a.m. and the program will begin at 10:30 a.m. The entertainment for the day will be the “Sonbeams” from the First United Methodist Church. Please come and plan to spend some time socializing as well as enjoying a delicious meal.
Because of the picnic, we will not be having Outpost at the Parsons Center in August.
