Because we can’t go on any trips this year, I will be putting some websites here in our column for those who have a computer. You will be able to take virtual tours or at least have some entertainment. This week you need to go to YouTube.com and check out “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.” This video is about an hour long so allow time to watch it. While you’re there, if you enjoy pets, check out “Talking Dog wants a Kitty.”
It’s that time of year again. Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15th to December 7th. Now is your chance to review your coverage and compare it to other options. Over the next few weeks, be looking for information from your current plan, Medicare, or Social Security. Be on the lookout for your new “Medicare & You” handbook. Just remember that plans are not allowed to call or come to your home without an invitation from you.
Call NOW to make an appointment with the SHIP Counselors. You need to call 304-636-4747. Due to the Covid pandemic, they are trying to handle the appointments primarily over the phone. They have been doing this for several months and it is working well. THE SCHEDULE FILLS UP QUICKLY SO CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT NOW. They are already booked some in November! Last year they ran out of appointments before the end of Open Enrollment!
The representative from the Attorney General’s office will be at the Parsons Center on Wednesday, October 21st. If you have a matter to discuss with her, please feel free to come by and talk with her. She follows the CDC protocol for your protection from the Covid-19.
Just a reminder that early voting begins today and continues until Saturday, October 31st. You may vote at the Court House during regular business hours. The Saturday hours will be 9 am to 5 pm. You may request an absentee ballot until October 28th but you must have it returned quickly (before election day) so it can be included with the regular votes.
