Camp Meeting 2015

 

Camp Meeting 2015 with Rev. Joe Land will be held at Teens for Christ Church on Rt. 119N., Philippi from Monday, Aug. 17 through Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. with morning services from 10 a.m. – noon. For information call 304-739-4692; 304-457-2361 or 304-739-2333.

 

Chicken Burn

 

The Parsons Volunteer Fire Department will have their 4th annual Chicken Burn, Saturday, Aug. 15. Dinners include ½ chicken, baked beans, potato salad, roll, dessert and drink for $10. Dinners will be ready at noon.

 

Poker Run for Kids

 

The Randolph/Tucker Children’s Advocacy Center is sponsoring the Poker Run for Kids on Aug. 15 at theMontrose Community Center. Registration at 9 a.m., breakfast will be available for purchase before the race. There are four stops along the way – Parsons, Canaan Valley, Belington and Elkins – before finishing up at the Montrose Community Center. Call 304-630-2214 for info.

11 a.m. Elakala Trail Walk: Meet at the trailhead of Elakala near Blackwater Lodge; 1:30 p.m. Bugs! Meet in the Harold Walters Nature Center. 2:30 p.m. Bug Cage: Meet Harold Walters Nature Center; 3:30 p.m. Nature Rubbings- Meet in Harold Walters Nature Center.

 

Youth Conservation Day

 

The Mountaineer Chapter IWLA, will be hosting their annual Youth Conservation Day on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the Clubhouse, approx. 6 miles up Files Creek Road, Beverly. This free event is opened to children ages 8 – 17 years old, with registration at 8 a.m. and event starting at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided. Tucker County Solid Waste Authority meeting

 

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Tucker County Solid Waste Authority is scheduled for Tuesday August 18, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Tucker County Solid Waste Authority Office, 284 Landfill Road, Davis.
