Deloris Ann McCrum Lowther

Deloris Ann McCrum Lowther, 75, a resident of Dailey, passed from this life Monday, October 2, 2017 at home. She had been in her usual health and death was unexpected.


Deloris was born Monday, July 20, 1942 in Hendricks, a daughter of the late Luther McCrum and Mary Edith Ketterman McCrum. On June 27, 1971 in Hyattsville, MD, she married Charles Grant Lowther Sr. who survives.

Also left to cherish her memory are three children, Cindy Sims and husband Charles “Corky” of Mechanicsville, MD, Charles Grant Lowther Jr. and wife Marnie of Jessup, MD and Joshua Matthew Adam Lowther of Dailey, six grandchildren, John, Christopher, Sean, Alijah, Mackenzie and Caleb, three great grandchildren, Schyler, Killian and John and four siblings, Jeanette Bishoff of Parsons, Karen Cross of Oregon, Connie Wilkerson of Ft. Laud., FL and Charles Michael “Mike” McCrum of Parsons.

Preceding Deloris in death besides her parents were two siblings, Robbie and Paul McCrum.
Deloris was a 1961 graduate of Parsons High School. She had been employed as the director of Discovery Corner Daycare in Elkins. She enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader. Deloris loved children and caring for them. Deloris was a member of the Parsons Church of God.

Visitation was held at the Hostetler Funeral Home Thursday from 5PM-7PM. A funeral service was conducted at the funeral home Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:30AM. Pastor Dave Snyder and Rev. Eli Hostetler officiated. Interment followed in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Elkins. The Hostetler Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements for Deloris Ann McCrum Lowther.
