History Lecture
Join Friends of Blackwater August 11 at 7 p.m. at the Cottrill Opera House in Thomas to learn more about West Virginia’s early history.
John Alexander Williams, a leading scholar of Appalachian history, will present a lecture on Henry Gassaway Davis and how the early industrialists helped shape the state.
Taste of Tucker Farmers Market opens
The Taste of Tucker Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at the Courthouse Square or Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon at Mill Race Park.

St. John’s Youth Fellowship will be sponsoring a cakewalk August 4n at 6 p.m.
Live Music by the Youth choir. The Youth are sponsoring a three year old child from Compassion International.

Annual retired school personnel picnic is Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 5 p.m. at Mill Race Park pavilion #1. All school retirees and families are invited. Bring your favorite covered dish.
Pistol Shooting Match
WV Double Tap Gun Club will be hosting a Pistol Shooting Match on August 5 at The Coalton VFW in Coalton, at 10 a.m., it will consist of three divisions – beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
