Parsons High School Alumni Meeting

The Parsons High School Alumni Association will meet Thursday, February 14, at Little Andi’s Restaurant at 5 p.m. The PHS Alumni banquet will be held on May 25, updated addresses and input on preparations are needed.

Annual “St. George” Valentines Dinner

Annual “St. George” Valentines Dinner – Parsons Senior Center at 1 p.m on Sunday, February 10.
Enjoy a meal choice of: Chicken Breast, Baked Ham, Mashed Potatoes, & Gravy, Green Beans, Corn, Fresh Hot Rolls, Coleslaw and Soup. Along with your favorite drinks and desserts. Join in or simply watch as fun “loving” games are enjoyed and love songs are provided. Let us know if you have a request. Sweetheart Cake and Anything Walk

The Ladies Auxiliary of the PVFD will have a Sweetheart Cake and Anything Walk at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Parsons Volunteer Fire Dapartment. Everyone welcome.

Mountaineer Garden Club Meeting

The Mountaineer Garden Club will meet Tuesday, February 5 at 6 p.m. at the Five Rivers Library. Bring at least 10 valentines per member for distribution on Valentine’s Day for the residents of Cortland Acres. All interested persons are encouraged to attend as plans will be developed for speakers and for the Tygarts Valley District meeting this fall.
Cabin Fever

Parsons Revitalization Organization ON TRAC (PRO), is hosting Sarah Ferguson. Barbour County artist for a FREE Valentine art workshop to provide a break to the winter “Cabin Fever”. Featured art work is “Creative Cats”, inspired by the work of famous artist, Laurel Burch and water color Valentine hearts.
This workshop is open to all third, fourth and fifth graders and will be held at Five Rivers Library Saturday, February 9 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Space is LIMITED, call Diana DeLuca, AmeriCorps Community Coordinator at 304 478-6009 or stop by the PRO office located in Parsons City Business Office week days 10 a.m,. to 4 p.m. to reserve a space or for questions. This is a FREE workshop

Friends of Cortland Acres Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Friends of Cortland Acres in the Gathering Room of Cortland Acres Nursing Home on Monday, February 4, at 1 p.m. For more information, call Marie Grafton, Activity Director at (304) 463-4181 Ext. 218.

Library Closing

Five Rivers Library will be closed, February 4, for staff to attend the WVLA Library Day Reception.

Yoga

Yoga – Strengthen your mind and body. Every Wednesday from January 16 – March 20 from 6 – 7 p.m., at the Parsons Community Building Donation Only. Bring your own mat.
