St. John’s Buckwheat Dinner
Buckwheat Dinner, all you can eat, with sausage, gravy & biscuits for an $8 donation on Sat., Oct. 12 from 4 – 7 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Parsons.  Sponsored by St. John’s United Methodist Men.
Retired School Employees Meeting
The Tucker County Retired School Employees will meet on Thursday, October 10 at Little Andi’s Restaurant  at noon.  Discussions include current legislation and insurance benefits.  All retired school employees are invited.
Buckwheat Dinner

Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival will be from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct.13 at the Hendricks Park.  Dress like an animal contest, pumpkin decorating penny pitch, cornhole, bouncy house, hay search, piñata and more.  All welcome.  Sponsored by the Hendricks Free Methodist Church.
Winter Tree Identification Class
Winter Tree Identification Class November 2, 2019 at Canaan Valley Fire Hall from 3 – 6 p.m.   Learn ways to ID trees even in winter without their leaves.  Class taught by Dave McGill of the WV Extension Service.  Free and open to public.  WVMN Canaan Valley Chapter
Mountaintop Public Library Hours
Mountaintop Public Library hours will change as of October 7, the library will be open with the following new hours: Monday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday noon to 7 p.m., Wednesday 8 a.m. to noon, Thursday noon to 7 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Buckwheat and Sausage Dinner
Buckwheat and sausage dinner from 3 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Maple Spring Church  of the Brethren Family Life Center in Eglon.  Donations $9 for adults; $5 for children 6-12 and children 5 and under, eat free.  Proceeds go to Family Life Center.  304-735-5202
Historical Society Meeting
The Tucker County Historical Society will meet Sunday, October 13 at 2 p.m. at the Tucker County Historical Society Museum in the Tucker County Annex. Visitors welcome
Jake’s Day
Tucker County Chapter 30 Jake’s Day will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.  Event will be held at the Isaac Walton League Park.  Contact 681-435-9023 or 304-614-4151 for more information.
Aurora Barn Dance
The 16th Annual Aurora Barn Dance will be held in Aurora WV at the Brookside Farm next Cathedral State Park on Sunday October 6 from 2  to 6  p.m. Door Prizes and a Silent Auction will be also offered. Apple cider will be available. Admission is $15 per person which includes entertainment, food and door prizes. Children under 10 are free.  Sponsored by the Aurora Project.
