PHS Alumni Meeting
The Parsons High School Alumni Association will be meeting at 5 p.m. on Thursday April 14, 2016 at Little Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons. Final plans are underway for our annual PHS Alumni banquet to be held May 28,2016 and your input is very important at this meeting.
Farmers Market Meeting
Warmer weather if right around the corner and so is the Farmers Market! The Taste of Tucker Board of Directors are inviting new members to join the Parsons market and the Thomas Market. If you are interested in joining there will be a meeting on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Parsons Senior Center at 6 p.m. During this meeting members will decide the dates for the start of the market and times, discuss marketing options, and vote on the Market Master and assistant. Immediately following the meeting there will be a Senior Voucher Training. If you have any questions regarding the market feel free to contact the Extension Office at 304 478-2949 ext:209 or a board member.
Retired School Employees to meet
T.C. Association of Retired School Employees will meet at Little Andi’s Restaurant on Tuesday, April 19, at 11:30 a.m. (please note this is different from the usual time and date). All retired school employees are welcome to attend.
All You Can Eat Ramp Dinner
There will be a ramp dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at the Mt. Grove Volunteer Fire Department. Adults $10; Children ages 6 – 11, $5; and under six eat free. For information contact Jeff at 304-735-6801 or email mtgrove@frontiernet.net.
DAR meeting
The Blackwater Chapter, DAR will be holding their monthly meeting April 16 at Lil Andi’s Restaurant at 1 p.m. All members are urged to attend, Serious decisions are to be made!
REVIVAL SERVICES
Good Tidings Assembly God Church on Location Road, Parsons, will be having a revival at 7 p.m. from April 13 – 15 . There will be special singing nightly and old fashion anointed healing services. Everyone welcome.

Monthly sing
The monthly sings of the St. George United Methodist Charge will Saturday April 16 at 7 p.m. This month it is being held at Union Chapel United Methodist Church on Clover Run. Everyone is welcome.
West Virginia trout stocking the week
The following waters were stocked the week: Blackwater River; Dry Fork (Randolph, Tucker); French Creek Pond; Laurel Fork (Randolph); Shavers Fork (Bemis); Shavers Fork (lower section); Shavers Fork (upper section).
Sportsman Supper
Canaan Valley Baptist will host its Sportsman Supper on Saturday, April 30 at 5 p.m. No cost and door prizes to be awarded. Bring your wild game ready to serve. Guest speaker: Robert Cole, avid hunter from Tennessee.
Cortland Foundation’s Pasta Palooza
Cortland Foundation, Inc. and Tucker County Prostart program will partner again for its annual Pasta Palooza. From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, Chef and Tucker County High School ProStart program instructor Carrie Shahan and her students will create unique pasta dishes for members of the community and Cortland Acres residents. The event raises money for the Cortland Foundation and ProStart. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are encouraged by e-mailing lnelson@cortlandacres.org or by calling 304-463-4181. Reservations accepted until April 22.
Italian Dinner
There will be an Italian dinner noon – 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at the Szilagyi Center/ Old Rowlesburg High. Stuffed shells, lasagna and more, fruits, salads and desserts $10. Sponsored by Rowlesburg Revitalization Comm.
Cake Walk/Silent Auction Benefit
A Cake Walk/Silent Auction Benefit for April Canon will be at 3 p.m. on April 16 at the Davis Fire Hall. Proceeds to benefit medical expenses.
