Basketball Registration

We are going to be sending home basketball registration forms with your children next week. The cut off for registration will be Oct. 28. Games start on Dec. 10. If you have any questions call at 304-642-7733.

Tucker County Fair Board

The Tucker County Fair Board will be holding the annual meeting on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. at Camp Kidd Park in Parsons. Anyone interested in joining the fair board for the 2016-2017 year are encouraged to attend this event. The Fair Board is providing the meat and all exhibitors are asked to bring a covered dish.

Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction

Parsons Church of God will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction on October 16 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Proceeds to benefit Operation Christmas Child. Price:donation

Blackwater Chapter DAR meeting

The Blackwater Chapter, DAR’s monthly meeting will be Oct.r 15 at 1 p.m. at Lil’ Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons.
We are asking all members to be present for this meeting.

Pasta Fazool Dinner

Pasta Fazool Dinner at the St. Thomas Center in Thomas, on Friday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. Pasta fazool, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage for $7.
Carryouts available. Benefit: Youth Activities. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus

Creepy Cake Walk

Parsons Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will have a “Creepy cake-anything walk” at the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. Costumes welcome/treat bags to first 100 children. Refreshments will be served.

TC Association of Retired School Employees Meeting

TCARSE will meet at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Little Andi’s Restaurant. All retired school employees are invited to attend. Come and meet the new regional director.

Hendricks United Methodist Women’s Bake Sale and Craft Sale will be from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Hendricks United Methodist Church. Eat in or carry out; hotdogs, BBQ, vegetable soup, nachos.

Cornbread and Bean Dinner

The Parsons High School Alumni Association will be meeting on Thursday, October 13, at Little Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons at 5 p.m. Plans are in the process for our annual PHS Alumni weekend of 2017.

Canaan Valley Wildlife Refuge presents: Story Time, on Friday Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. The topic is “How animals prepare for winter”. This is the last story time of the year.
