Free Friday

Free Friday will be Friday May 25, at 6 p.m., in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Hot dogs, salads, baked beans, chips, desserts and drinks. Everyone is welcome.


Fishing Derby Rescheduled

The fishing derby at Horseshoe was canceled due to high water danger. It has been re-scheduled for Saturday, June 2.


Lions Club Breakfast

The Annual Lions Club Breakfast will be from 7 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the Parsons Senior Center. Sausage gravy and biscuits, scramble eggs, home fries, French toast, fruit and drinks.
Price $8 ages 13 and up and $5 for 12 and under. Welcome Visiting Parsons High School Alumni.


Railroad History Tour

Saturday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to noon, Friends of Blackwater and local historian Chuck Nichols will lead a tour focused on the role of railroads in the history of Thomas and the surrounding area. Meet at the Buxton and Landstreet building on Douglas Road,. For information contact Friends of Blackwater at 304-345-7663 or kate@saveblackwater.org


Annual Memorial Day Dinner

The Hambleton United Methodist Church will have the annual Memorial Day Dinner beginning at noon on Sunday, May 27. Donations will be accepted.


Free Photography Tours

Tucker County Photography Club & Cortland Acres will have free photography tours at Cortland ACres, enter at the Short-Term Rehabilitation Facility, on Saturday, May 26 from 1 – 3 p.m.
