The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
• William J. Buser of Swanton, Md. was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled No Contest and was assessed fines of $4.20 and court cost of $165.80.{{more}}
• Todd Alan Fansler of Thomas, was cited for speeding (65-55) by Cpl. D.W. Burge. He pled No Contest and was assessed fines of $4.20 and court cost of $165.80.
• Scott M. Slaughter of Morgantown, was cited for No proof of insurance by TFC J.E. Kopec. Proof was shown and citation was dismissed.
• David Aaron Cosner of Davis, was cited for No seatbelt by Cpl. M.A. Roy. He pled No Contest and was assessed a fine of $25.
• Randolph L. Willis of Mt. Storm, was cited for Speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled No Contest and was assessed fines of $4.20 and court cost of $165.80.
• Cameron D. Perdue of Parkersburg, was cited for Speeding (69-55) by Sgt. C.D. Siler. He pled No Contest and was assessed fines of $4.20 and court cost of $165.80.
• Bradley D. Newlon of Philippi, was cited for Excessive Noise by Cpl. M.S.Wetzel. He pled No Contest and was assessed fines of $4.20 and court cost of $165.80.
The following Criminal Complaint was filed with the Tucker County Magistrate Court:
• Marlin Eugene Miller of Parsons was charged with First offense DUI by Deputy C.A. Teter. On July 3, Teter stopped Miller when he noticed him driving left of center. When stopped, alcohol was present in the vehicle and Miller stated that he had consumed a couple of beers. He was given a Field Sobriety Test which he failed. Miller was arrested and transported to the Parsons Police Department for further processing.
Cases heard in Tucker County Magistrate Court:
Jessica Poe has been bound over to Tucker County Circuit Court.
Levi McCauley pled No Contest to first count DUI. He was fined $100 and court cost of $240.80. He received six months jail time but it was suspended and he must serve one year community corrections.
The following are Assigned Cases in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:
• Jason Ray Ball came before Magistrate Riley H. Barb for a Misdemeanor DUI charge that occurred on June 29. A court hearing is set for August 7 and a PR bond was set at $1,000.
• Casey Fridley came before Magistrate Carol Irons for a Misdemeanor DUI charge that occurred on June 29. A court hearing is set for August 13and a PR bond was set at $1,000.
• Thomas Summerfield came before Magistrate Riley H. Barb for a misdemeanor charge of Operation of vehicle without evidence of registration. A court hearing has been set for September 5.
The following case was heard in the Tucker County Circuit Court:
On June 28, Judge Philip Jordan presided over the case of a probation violation hearing. Timothy Daniels waived his preliminary hearing and stipulated to the violation of probation due to termination from the Tucker County Community Corrections Program.
The Court ordered that the defendant must attend inpatient therapy to treat his addiction. His incarceration at The Tygart Valley Regional Jail will continue until such time that he is accepted into inpatient therapy.
Once therapy is complete, Daniels will be accepted back into the Tucker County Community Corrections Program.
The Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police filed the following accident report:
On Friday, June 28 at 5:18 p.m. Madonna K. Stokes of Elkins, was traveling north on US219, near Olsen Tower Road. Stokes’ 2001 Chrysler ran off the roadway on the right and struck a large rock on the embankment. The vehicle then rolled over and came to rest on the roof. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. She was then transported to Davis Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Morgantown. Assisting the West Virginia State Police were the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department and the Tucker County EMS.
