The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
  •  Laura J. White, of Ft. Ashby, was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  She pled guilty and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Jack Goldstein, of Davis, was cited for no insurance by Cpl. D.W. Burge.  Charge was dismissed with proof shown.
  • Kenneth J. DeHart, of Alexandria, Va., was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Marc E. Gravell, of Thomas, for speeding (55-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled guilty and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Sheila F. Hedrick, of Newton Falls, Ohio, was cited for cell phone use by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $100.
  • Peter P. Bodules, of Laurel, Md. was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Joshua D. Winters, of Libertytown, Md. was cited for speeding (63-45) by Trp. J.E. Kopec.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • David A. Auvil, of Parsons, was cited for no seatbelt by Trp. J.E. Kopec.  He pled guilty and was assessed fines of $25.
  • Burley Nelson, of Dryfork, was cited for open burning of refuse by T.L. Fluharty.  He was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Trenton R. Dibartolomeo, of Parsons, was cited for expired registration by Sr. Trp. J.J. Schmidle.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Shannon C. Harman Kerr, of Davis, was cited for speeding (59-45) and no proof of insurance by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  She was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.  Second charge was dismissed with proof shown.
  • Rebecca Leigh McClung, of Belington, was cited for no insurance by Cpl. D.W. Burge.  Charge was dismissed with proof shown.

 

The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

 

  • Daniel Bruce Long, of Parsons, was charged with seven counts of abuse or neglect of incapacitated adult, three counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with emergency communications.  The victim is a double amputee and has paralysis on her left side.  According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 30, 2012 the defendant allegedly hit the victim, Karen Long, and slapped her with the palm of his hand across the eye, on Aug 31, 2012 he allegedly attempted to strangle her for waking him to help her.  On Nov. 3, 2012 he allegedly slapped her and was cursing her stating he would blow the place up because he could get dynamite.  On Dec. 17, 2012 the defendant allegedly came home drunk and slapped her in the face and tried to choke her.  The on June 15, 2014 the accused allegedly choked the victim and put a pillow over her face.  On June 20 he struck her in the face causing a bruise on her left eye.  On June 24 the defendant allegedly got upset because the victim woke him up to change her because she was wet.  He then threw water in her face and put the glass over her eye and twisted it into her face causing bruises on her face.  As of press time Long was being housed in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail under $18,500 cash only bond.
  • Jeanie Daniele Long, of Parsons, was charged with two counts abuse or neglect of incapacitated adult.  According to the criminal complaint, on May 15, 2012 the defendant allegedly hit her mother because Karen Long would not give Jeanie Long her medication.  Then on Nov. 14, 2012 the defendant allegedly put a pillow over the victim’s face to the point that she was gasping for air, just because the victim asked to be cleaned up.  Karen Long is a double amputee and paralyzed on left side.
  • Peggy Sue Heckler, of Kerens, was charged with domestic battery on Friday, Aug 23.  According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 23 Heckler allegedly pushed her husband, Donald Heckler, and pulled his hair after an argument.  Several statements from witnesses said the defendant did strike the victim, pulled his hair and got on top of him, holding him down.
  • Donald Eugene Heckler, of Hendricks, was charged with battery on an officer and obstructing an officer on Friday, Aug. 23.  According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 23 officers were dispatched to 267 Redtail Lane in Hambleton.  At approximately 7:14 p.m., Dep. C.R. Donelson, of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department, arrived at the scene, was met by Peggy Heckler, who allegedly stated she was hurt and had been jumped by three individuals.  While speaking to the caller the defendant, Donald Heckler, arrived on scene and became very belligerent.  Donelson allegedly advised the defendant to keep quiet and watch his mouth several times.  The defendant then continued yelling and screaming obscenities.  At this time Donelson advised the defendant that he was under arrest and attempted to physically restrain him when he forcefully resisted by allegedly pushing away from Donelson.  He then put the defendant on the ground to gain control and placed him under arrest.

 

Police News

 

The Tucker County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Friday, Aug. 22 at approximately 7:50 a.m. a juvenile traveling north on US219 was involved in an accident.  The 2004 Colorado truck was entering a left hand turn just above Mackeyville Rd. when the driver lost control and struck the embankment.  The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its side in the northbound lane.  No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
